Importing Paintball guns from the USA to Canada?

Question by Tumex: Importing Paintball guns from the USA to Canada?
Hey there, I would like to know the regulations on Paintball guns imported from the US to Canada.

What I am planning to do is cross over the US border to the nearest city and pick up the package at the US address and cross back the border to go back to Canada, so that I can benefit from free shipping in the US… but I was wondering how would I go about dealing with the regulations and taxes, and everything else?

Thanks a lot for your answers and wish you guys a wonderful day!

You buy it in the US and pick it up in the US, Canada can’t tax you for it. Once you’ve got it and cross back over into Canada, it’s your own personal property.

You will be asked about the value of any purchases made in the US that you’re bringing back at the border. You will then have to pay duty and taxes on that purchase at the border.

You can decide not to declare the package at the border but if they decide to search the vehicle and they find the package, your vehicle will be impounded, you will be fined and the package confiscated. Of course if you stay in the US for 48 hours, you’re allowed to bring back around $ 200 worth of goods duty and tax free.

So it’s your call on the level of risk you want to take. My last marker that I brought from the US back to Canada cost me $ 68 in duty – It was used, so no sales tax.
